Why a dedicated programme
Every month, your body feels different.
Your balance is not what it was. Your back aches more than before. Breathing feels short as the baby grows, and some days you are tired by noon. A normal fitness class is not made for any of this, and lying in bed for nine months is not the answer either.
This class sits in between. It has a plan, it is gentle where it needs to be, and it changes as you do.
How we teach it
One class. Everyone doing what suits her.
What you do depends on which month you are in. Everyone practises together, and nobody practises the same.
Gentle and grounding
Slow and gentle. Many women feel tired or sick in these months. We go easy, and never push.
Your strongest window
Usually your best months. We build strength in your back, hips and legs while you have the energy.
Room to breathe
More room to breathe, opening the hips, and simple breathing you can use during delivery.
What every session holds
Six things, every class.
Safe movement
Only what is safe for the month you are in.
Breathing
Pranayama to keep you calm and help you sleep.
Pelvic floor
Simple exercises that help during and after delivery.
Garbha sanskar
Quiet time to connect with your baby.
Ready for delivery
Positions and breathing you can use on the day.
Rest
One full hour that is only for you.
There are partner sessions too, so your husband or family can join in. We also do light dance movement.
Who is teaching
Nihharika Agarwala
Nihharika founded Paathway2Yoga in Ulubari and teaches every class herself. Prenatal work is her specialisation, not an add-on.
- Registered pre & postnatal yoga teacher
- RYT 200 certified yoga teacher
- Trained in therapeutic yoga and face yoga
You do not need to be fit. You do not need to have done yoga before. Come as you are, and I will change the practice to suit you.

Before you join
Questions expecting mothers ask us
Is prenatal yoga safe during pregnancy?
Prenatal yoga taught by a trained prenatal teacher is widely considered safe for most healthy pregnancies, and many doctors actively encourage it. You do not need a doctor's note to join. Every posture is adapted to the month you are in, and if your doctor has advised you anything specific, just tell Nihharika before you start.
When is the right time to start?
Most students join in the second trimester, once early nausea has settled, but the first and third trimesters are both fine. Tell us how many weeks you are and we will place you correctly.
I live outside India. Can I really join?
Yes, and we would be glad to have you. The online batch is a live class, not a recording, so you are seen and corrected like anyone in the room. Class times are 12:00 noon and 4:00 PM India time, GMT+5:30. See the time table above for your city, or message us and we will work it out with you.
What do I need to bring?
Coming to the studio: just yourself. Mats, cushions and props are all here.
Joining from home: a yoga mat, a bottle of water, two cushions, and a chair or wall to hold for balance. Wear loose, comfortable clothes.
What if I miss a class?
Pregnancy has unpredictable days and we plan for that. Let us know in advance and we will help you catch up, either in the other batch that week or with practice you can do at home.
Can I continue after the baby arrives?
Yes. Nihharika is a registered postnatal teacher as well, and many students move straight into postnatal recovery classes when they feel ready. Same teacher, same room, adapted practice. There is more in our guide to returning safely after delivery.
